North Las Vegas police are investigating a homicide late Sunday night in the 2000 block of East Tonopah Avenue, near Lake Mead Boulevard and Civic Center Drive.

The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was attending a party when an argument started between him and 19-year-old Fernando Corales, just outside the residence. During the argument, police said Corales pulled out a handgun and shot the male victim.

Then, 27-year-old Hugo Lopez came outside and also shot at the victim.

Corales and Lopez were subsequently booked at the Las Vegas City Detention Center for the charges of murder with a deadly weapon and attempted murder with a deadly weapon, respectively. 

The man died while he was being taken to the hospital. The coroner's office will release the identity, and cause and manner of death, pending notification of next of kin.
