UPDATE: 1 person injured in business complex fire on east side of valley

UPDATE JUNE 25: Clark County Fire Department is now saying that a female was treated for burns to her extremities and transported to a hospital. CCFD sent 4 engines, 2 rescues, 1 truck and 2 battalion chiefs to the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Crews are investigating a fire at a business complex in the east part of the Las Vegas valley.

The fire happened on Monday night near Tropicana Avenue and Pecos Road.

As of 11 p.m., the fire was mostly out but crews remained on the scene to put out hotpots and investigate.

No word yet how many businesses are impacted or if there are any injuries.

13 Action News spoke to an employee of Taco Y Taco, one of the businesses in the area.

"I noticed that there was black smoke and it was getting really heavy," says Christina Rangel. "We had to evacuate the building. Our customers grabbed whatever they could and walked out."

Exactly one week ago, on June 17, a massive fire burned for hours at an an office building near Flamingo and Paradise roads.

The building was vacant at the time and nobody was seriously hurt, but it suffered extensive damage and the building was a total loss.
