With the lifting of public health and safety restrictions enacted by Nevada government officials, the BLM Humboldt River Field Office (HRFO), announced that Winnemucca Sand Dunes (WSD) will reopen to the public for recreational access.
Beginning May 23, the sand dunes will reopen. They are located approximately 8 miles north of Winnemucca in Humboldt County.
This comes after the WSD was temporarily closed on March 24 for public safety reasons.
