Gov. Sisolak encourages Nevadans to celebrate Veterans Day at a distance

Gov. Steve Sisolak is encouraging everyone to celebrate our veterans from a distance today.

He released a video saying the following:

This is a day we get to say thank you. Sadly, COVID-19 has forced changes to many of our planned in-person Veterans Day celebrations. To protect those who protected us, I am happy to participate in this video to celebrate and honor all of Nevada's veterans.

Henderson is holding its veterans day ceremony online. The program includes a musical tribute, laying of a wreath, and the reading of names added to the Veterans' Memorial Wall.

Most banks, local and federal government offices are closed.

Clark County School District is also closed, which means no classes or meal distribution for the kids today.
