NORTH LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS) says it plans to provide COVID-19 vaccines to veterans ages 65 and older on Saturday.

Veterans are expected to be able to get the vaccines through a walk-in clinic from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 27 at the North Las Vegas VA Medical Center.

VASNHS-enrolled veterans can receive their first doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Representatives say if demand exceeds available vaccine supply, then eligible veterans will be scheduled for a later date, and veterans who have already received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will not be eligible to receive their second dose during this event.

Veterans interested in receiving the vaccine must be enrolled with VASNHS before they arrive at the clinic on Saturday, as no on-site enrollment services will be available.

Since giving the first dose of the vaccine on Dec. 16, VASNHS says it has delivered more than 21,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine as of Feb. 23.

Nationwide, the Department of Veterans Affairs says it has vaccinated more than one million veterans.
