CARSON CITY (AP) — Nevada's governor is lobbying state lawmakers to pass a component of his budget that funds additional relief for small businesses.
Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak joined the owners of a pizza parlor and soul food restaurant on Tuesday for a roundtable discussion on issues faced by small businesses almost 11 months into the pandemic.

More than 4,300 small businesses received emergency relief grants last year to help them remain afloat and Sisolak proposes using leftover federal relief dollars to double the size of the grant program to $101 million.
Meanwhile, the number of new coronavirus cases reported daily in the state has begun to trend downward.
