Sands president: No Las Vegas without conventions

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The president of Las Vegas Sands says Las Vegas will not be able to bounce back until conventions return.

Rob Goldstein says the company has lost nearly $1 billion since the pandemic began, which also accounts for revenue lost in Macau and Singapore.

This comes as both Circus Circus and Wynn Las Vegas have notified employees of job losses. Those companies say they're furloughing employees but wouldn't clarify exactly how many or if there were layoffs.

Furloughed employees at the Wynn and Encore will get health benefits through October 31.
