CARSON CITY (AP) — In Nevada, all local governments except Las Vegas and Clark County have not received federal coronavirus aid passed by Congress in March. Local officials say it is difficult to help communities without the money as costs accumulate and the virus continues to spread.
Gov. Steve Sisolak said Nevada cities and counties will get the money once they are certified, but local officials say they want direct aid from the federal government instead of money that passes through the state government.
Congress is currently negotiating a second round of virus aid for state and local governments amid rising virus cases.
