LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas Sands says it will continue to pay its employees amid the coronavirus pandemic through at least Oct. 31.

Sands Chairman and CEO Sheldon Adelson wrote a letter to team members on Wednesday stating the pandemic has changed almost everything but not the company's commitment to its employees.

Adelson says Sands will maintain pay and benefits for Venetian-Palazzo team members through the end of October even as business demands decline amid the pandemic.

Sands has not furloughed or laid off any of its employees due to the pandemic. This is something Adelson also noted in the letter, "To my knowledge, we are the only company in our industry and likely one of few in the broader hospitality industry who has not furloughed or laid off employees because of the COVID-19 pandemic."
