CARSON CITY (KTNV) — The Nevada COVID-19 Mitigation and Management Task Force will hold an emergency meeting on Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. with Washoe County officials to discuss their plan to combat increasing COVID-19 trends in the county.

The state says Washoe County has seen an increasing trend in the COVID-19 burden on the county since Sept. 28, as evidenced by data tracked by the state, and by data reported from the Washoe County Health District.

As of Sunday, Washoe was set to be flagged for the fifth week in a row on the state metrics with a positivity rate of 9% – measured as a 14-day average with a 7-day lag - and 592 cases per 100,000 residents – measured over the last 30 days.

Last week, the Washoe County Health District reported 350 cases in a single day, almost double a previous one-day record 179 cases in a single day.

The meeting agenda has been posted online at nvhealthresponse.nv.gov.
