7th positive COVID-19 case reported at College of Southern Nevada

UPDATE APRIL 13: A 7th case of COVID-19 has been reported by College of Southern Nevada.

A new update posted on CSN's website reads:

A student notified CSN of a confirmed positive test on April 10. The individual is currently self-quarantined. They were last on the Henderson Campus on March 16. Individuals who have come into contact with this student will be notified by the Southern Nevada Health District’s disease surveillance team who investigate all positive cases of COVID-19.

UPDATE APRIL 8: One instructor and a 5th College of Southern Nevada student have tested positive for COVID-19, the college says.

An instructor notified CSN of a confirmed positive test on April 6. The individual is currently self-quarantined. They were last at the Water Street facility, which includes but is not limited to the Southern Desert Regional Police Academy, on March 23. Individuals who have come into contact with this instructor will be notified by the Southern Nevada Health District’s disease surveillance team who investigate all positive cases of COVID-19.

A student notified CSN of a confirmed positive test on April 7. The individual is currently self-quarantined. They were last on the Charleston Campus on March 16. Individuals who have come into contact with this student will be notified by the Southern Nevada Health District’s disease surveillance team who investigate all positive cases of COVID-19.

On its website CSN wrote the following update posted on April 6:

Individuals who have come into contact with this student will be notified by the Southern Nevada Health District’s disease surveillance team who investigate all positive cases of COVID-19.

UPDATE APRIL 6: A third College of Southern Nevada student has tested positive for COVID-19, the college says. The student was last on the North Las Vegas Campus on March 17.

A student notified CSN of a confirmed positive test on April 1. The individual is currently self-quarantined. They were last on the North Las Vegas Campus on March 17. Individuals who have come into contact with this student will be notified by the Southern Nevada Health District’s disease surveillance team who investigate all positive cases of COVID-19.

UPDATE APRIL 1: A second College of Southern Nevada student has tested positive for COVID-19, the college says. The student was last on the Henderson Campus on March 13.

On its website CSN wrote the following update:

A student notified CSN of a confirmed positive test on April 1. The individual is currently self-quarantined. They were last on the Henderson Campus on March 13. Individuals who have come into contact with this student will be notified by the Southern Nevada Health District’s disease surveillance team who investigate all positive cases of COVID-19.

ORIGINAL STORY
LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- The College of Southern Nevada says one of its students has tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, and it is the first known case at the college.

The student was last on the Charleston Campus on March 11 in Building K, CSN says, and they are self-quarantined and following protocols set by state health officials and the CDC.

CSN says it is working closely with the Southern Nevada Health District’s Office of Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance to address any issues that may arise.

The Health District is contacting anyone who may have been exposed due to extended close contact with the patient and will determine if further testing is needed.
