Allegiant, TAO, other Vegas area businesses send layoff notices in October

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Six Nevada companies sent employment loss notices to the state in October.

Allegiantsays 50 employees were laid off effective Oct. 8.

TAO Nightclub's letter to the employment department says two employees were impacted on or around Sept. 30., and TAO Restaurant says four employees were impacted on or around Sept. 30.

Beauty & Essex Las Vegas says one employee was impacted on or around Sept. 30.

Marquee Nightclub says six employees were impacted on or around Sept. 30.

LAVO Las Vegas says one employee was impacted on or around Sept. 30.

Bright Horizons Children's Center, a child care center at MGM, says it is permanently closed. 74 employees were placed on furlough on March 20. The company says those employees were told at the time that the furlough would last six months and the location would reopen.
