LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Allegiant Airlines, based out of Las Vegas, announced they would receive $171.9 million in aid through the CARES act relief fund passed by congress.

The aid will allow the airline company to pay for 76% of its 4,500 employees' benefits and salaries through September 30.

The aid included a $21,000,000, 10 year, low-interest loan.

Who will receive checks from the CARES Act?

Greg Anderson, chief financial officer, said in a release that 25% of the workforce had already taken voluntary leave or a voluntary pay reduction.

"We are incredibly grateful to the partners who made this critical support possible, but also want to thank our team members, who have stepped up in force to support the company during this unprecedented time," Anderson said.
