LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Community leaders gathered last night at City Hall to discuss domestic violence and honor local victims. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
There was a candlelight vigil before a panel discussion. Executives from Shade Tree, SafeNest and Rape Crisis Center and a Las Vegas police detective all took turns talking about how big of a problem domestic violence is in the Las Vegas valley.
Nevada has the 2nd most domestic violence homicides a year with about 85 percent happening in Clark County.
If you or someone you know needs help, the SafeNest hotline is available 24 hours a day. The number is 702-646-4981.
