LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The College of Southern Nevada welcomed students back on campus for the 2026-2027 school year Monday.
WATCH | Anyssa Bohanan spoke with students and alumni about the hands-on experience provided through the school that helps prepare them for future careers:
"It helps us out a lot because they give us a lot of opportunities, and they let us know that they care," said student body president Brayden Boulter. "It's not even just helping us build a resume. They have a whole department here dedicated to going to careers out after college called Career Services."
Some of the alumni who were able to get those opportunities at CSN have since gone on to create their own businesses like Stephan Conti, owner of Pastadesso; Medin Grezgier, owner of My Merch Madness; and Robert Strawder, founder of Hip Hip Entrepreneurship.
"We help anybody. We meet them as they are, and when they come in with their dreams and their passions and their goals, we just take them to the next level," said Kevin Raiford, Department Chair of CSN's Business Administration. "So it's my job to make sure that they take what they want to and go to fruition and then, hey, we go global."
The school is holding a career fair next month for anyone in the community who's looking to connect with local employers or get resources for starting a career. The event is free and is taking place on Sept. 23. You can register here.
