LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — It was a battle between parents, teachers and the Clark County School District at Thursday night's board meeting.

Teachers told district leaders they don't have enough cleaning supplies to keep students safe.

Several parents were also there and worried that students could be carrying COVID-19 and spreading the virus to classmates.

Despite outrage, concerns and demands schools will not shutdown, Superintendent Jesus Jara said the district is doing everything it can to prepare and not panic.

CCSD said that have formed a team to prepare and respond to the COVID-19 threat.

Jara said all after-school programs, assemblies and events have been canceled and the salad bar on all campuses will be removed.

Superintendent Jesus Jara said canceling school is the last resort.
