LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Clark County School District is welcoming new leadership to the district's police department.
Jeff Clark was sworn in as the next chief of the CCSD Police Department. Clark recently served as a captain within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and led the South Central Area Command.

In addition to his two decades of experience in law enforcement in the valley, Clark is a proud CCSD graduate. The swearing-in ceremony took place at Cimarron-Memorial High School, where he graduated in 1996.
"I’m the very first chief of police for this department who is a direct K-12 product of the Clark County School District," Clark said.
During his time with Metro, he helped develop a K-12 threat-assessment and response framework as part of LVMPD's School Violence Initiative. Clark explained it's something that requires a strong partnership between law enforcement agencies.
"The safety of our children is a mission that knows no boundaries, jurisdictions and no politics," he said. "We are one team."
It's work that Superintendent Jhone Ebert said she's eager for him to draw on as the new CCSDPD chief.
"That took collaboration. It took collaboration with everyone in this room," she said. "We’re very thankful because we know that communities solve community problems."
Clark also said the safety of students walking to and from school is a focal point for him. That, and holding those drivers who speed through school zones accountable.
School starts up for CCSD students on Monday, Aug. 10.
Clark succeeds Chief Mike Blackeye, who retired from CCSDPD at the end of the 2025-26 school year.
