Clark County coroner identifies teen girl killed in shooting, case referred to DA

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The teenage girl who was shot at an apartment complex near East Lake Mead Boulevard and Los Feliz Street has been identified.

According to the Clark County coroner’s officer, her name was Nakalia Daniels and she was 17 years old. She was a resident of North Las Vegas.

Her cause of death is still pending.

The shooting happened on Feb. 2. Police say that a group of people, including 2 males and 1 female, were arguing with a male inside of an apartment.

When police arrived, they found the female dead at the top of a set of stairs. One of the males was dropped off at North Vista Hospital in North Las Vegas with multiple gunshot wounds.

The shooter was detained at the time, but it appears the shooting may have been in self-defense.

According to the homicide log for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the case has been referred to the district attorney to decide if charges should be filed.
