LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A child was hit by a car in the northeast valley Thursday morning.

It happened around 7:23 a.m. near the intersection of Craig Road and Las Vegas Boulevard, outside the main gate at Nellis Air Force Base, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Police said the child was a pedestrian who was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The driver stayed on scene, and authorities do not suspect impairment.

Roads in the area are open to traffic.
