LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The second annual Hockey Has HeART charity game at City National Arena took place Sunday.

It was all to raise funds for Project Imagine, a nonprofit organization that’s working to make sure local kids battling long term illnesses are not alone.

“I like doing art and there's lots of music,” says Felicia Amoia.

Amoia was at Sunday’s game after spending 9 months in the hospital battling cancer.

It’s been a long road, but Amoia says visits from Project Imagine along the way made all the difference.

“It makes me feel much happier when I see them,” says Amoia.

Admission to the game was free and even Chance, the mascot for Vegas Golden Knights, had a chance to stop by.

Project Imagine is hoping to raise awareness again next year, and expand the program to reach more kids at valley hospitals.

“These experiences are not only filling time for the children, but it gives them an opportunity to relieve stress and anxiety,” says organizer Diane Mifsud.
