1 dead after car crashes into palm tree near the Las Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Howard Hughes Parkway, about one mile east of the Las Vegas Strip, has reopened following a deadly crash late Tuesday night.

Police say a woman lost control of her 2003 Ford Mustang while traveling north near Corporate Drive, between Sands Avenue and Flamingo Road, and hit a palm tree near the roadside.

The woman was taken to Sunrise Medical Center where she died.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says this is the 16th deadly crash in the department's jurisdiction in 2020.

The Clark County coroner has identified the woman as 34-year-old Alanna Perez. City of residence unknown. Cause of death is pending.
