A roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for April 27, 2017.

11:50 P.M.

A semi-truck fire briefly closed lanes of U.S. 95 near Durango Drive.

10:53 P.M.

One person was hurt after several shots were fired between vehicles around 9:45 p.m. in the parking lot of Camelot Liquors, near Tropicana Avenue and Maryland Parkway. The person who was shot then drove to the 5400 block of Maryland Parkway, near Hacienda Avenue, and exited the vehicle and collapsed. Bystanders then called medical personnel, who then determined the person was shot in the legs with non-life threatening injuries.

4:40 P.M.

Las Vegas firefighters responded to H Street at W. Lake Mead Blvd at 10:54 a.m. Thursday after fire dispatchers received numerous calls that smoke was coming from a house.
 
When firefighters arrived, smoke was showing from the rear of a small one-story wood frame house. Firefighters went inside the house and found the fire in a rear bedroom. They had the fire extinguished in just a few minutes.
 
The fire was confined to the bedroom. There was moderate heat and smoke damage throughout the rest of the house. Damage was estimated at $25,000.
 
The cause of the fire is undetermined, but careless smoking could not be ruled out.

4:25 P.M.

Las Vegas police confirmed that an 11-year-old boy was critically injured when he was crossing Vista Run Drive at Desert Sunrise Road at a marked crosswalk and struck by a Mercedes. He was riding a bicycle at the time. The boy was transported to UMC Trauma. The driver did not show any signs of impairment. Click here for his GoFundMe page.

11:40 A.M.

Police say that they will charge Paul Jones for murder in connection to the disappearance to his son. READ MORE.

10:40 A.M.

Police say a juvenile may have been critically injured after being hit by a car near Desert Sunrise and Vista Run Drive. The juvenile was transported to UMC Trauma. Road closures are in effect.

10:15 A.M.

Police release name and mug shot of man they say tried to start a fire at Trump International Hotel on Wednesday using toasters. READ MORE.

6:45 A.M.

Police are investigating a crashed motorcycle near Alta and Valley View Boulevard. The motorcycle is in the median. There may be traffic delays in the area.

4:30 A.M.

One man is dead and another one is injured after a fight broke out and shots were fired overnight near O'Bannon Drive and Decatur Boulevard. 5 or 6 people were involved in the fight. It is not known at this time why it started. The shooter has not been arrested.
