Breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for April 18, 2017.

9:55 P.M.

A 18-year-old man told police that he was crossing the street at Las Vegas Boulevard and Fremont Street downtown when a white car hit him around 8:10 p.m. After he was hit, he walked to the Four Queens and called police. The man sustained non-life threatening abrasion type injuries. The vehicle may have been Toyota Camry. 

5:40 P.M.

The Henderson police officer involved in the crash has minor injuries. Henderson police said the female driver of the vehicle failed to yield and drove out in front of the officer. The officer hit the side of the vehicle and went over the vehicle.

4:25 P.M.

A Henderson police motorcycle officer was hit by a vehicle near Green Valley Parkway and Ramrod Avenue, which is north of Sunset Road, around 4:05 p.m. The officer is being transported to Sunrise Hospital in unknown condition. The driver of the vehicle involved called police regarding the crash. 

4:15 P.M.

Four suspects have been arrested in a total of 16 armed robberies in Las Vegas and Henderson. The suspects, identified as Rondall Talley, Donnell Talley, Tylon Marshall and Calvin Rembert, have been arrested for numerous charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and attempted murder. 3:30 P.M.

Around 12:30 p.m. the Lake Mead Interagency Communication Center received a radio distress call from the “Desert Princess,” reporting that the vessel lost power with 163 passengers on board. The strong winds, which were gusting above 30 miles per hour at the time, pushed the triple decker Mississippi-style paddle wheeler into slips at the Las Vegas Boat Harbor and Lake Mead Marina. The vessel was pushed toward the breakwater where personnel were able to safely offload around 60 passengers onto patio boats. Winds shifted, causing the vessel to drift from the breakwater. Around this time, the crew was able to restart the vessel and pilot it back to the landing where the remaining passengers safely disembarked. One crew member was injured and was transported to a hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

2:44 P.M.

Northern Nevada Correctional Center inmate Francisco Javier Serrato, 74, died April 16. He was committed May 2010 and was serving 72 to 240 months for attempted sexual assault of victim under 16 and attempted lewdness with a minor.

11:30 A.M.

Police say that it was a bicyclist that was hit near Charleston Boulevard and Pavilion Center. The bicyclist was transported to UMC Trauma and was later pronounced deceased. Southbound Pavilion Center is currently closed. Police are warning motorists of a lengthy closure. READ MORE.

11:15 A.M.

A person was critically injured after being hit by a tour bus just after 10:35 a.m. on West Charleston Boulevard near South Pavilion Center Drive. Road closures are in effect.

4 A.M.

3 men were displaced by a fire late Monday night at a home in the 2800 block of Trona Street near Sahara Avenue and Richfield. The men were alerted to fire after someone banged on their back door. A dog was also able to escape. The cause is unknown at this time.
