The weather today is going to be much different around the Las Vegas valley and those changes will last for several days.
Gusts of 25 mph are out there this morning, and winds will increase to 35 mph by lunchtime and could hit 40 mph this afternoon. Gusts will still hit 30 mph after dark, but fall below 20 mph after midnight.
And, it could rain.
Showers and storms (with lightning) are possible starting at around 11 a.m. and continuing until about 4 p.m.

But the biggest difference between today and tomorrow will definitely be the temperatures.
It's mild, in the 60s as most people wake up this morning, but highs will only reach the low 70s this afternoon, which is a 20 degree drop from Wednesday. The average high is in the upper 80s this time of May, when it can easily hit 100° in Las Vegas.

Lows tonight will drop to the upper 40s and low 50s, which is much cooler than the average mid-May low in the 60s. High temps on Friday are expected to be in the low 70s with a light wind and sunshine. Only the small chance of a stray shower in the mountains during the daytime.
It will be a cool start again on Saturday with lows in the 50s but we’ll end up close to 80 degrees by Saturday afternoon.
But, it won’t quite be over yet.
Temperatures will cooler than average through much of next week and it will be a bit breezy.
Expect gusts up to 35 mph and highs in the uppers 70s on Sunday. Monday delivers northwest gusts to 25 mph and that keeps us in the upper 70s.
We should be back in the low 80s by mid-week and we’ll have off-on-wind gusts between 20 and 30 mph.
