Cyclist dies after being hit by tour bus near Red Rock hotel-casino

A cyclist is dead after being hit by a tour bus near Red Rock hotel-casino on Tuesday morning.

It was reported at 10:35 a.m. The collision happened near West Charleston Boulevard and South Pavilion Center Drive.

Police said both the bus and cyclist were going south on Pavilion Center when the cyclist lost control and veered into the passenger side of the bus.

The 51-year-old male rider was transported to UMC Trauma where he died of his injuries.

The driver of the bus did not show any signs of impairment.

The cyclist's death marks the 39th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas police's jurisdiction in 2017.

The Clark County coroner will release the name of the deceased after relatives have been notified.
