UPDATE ON FEB. 18: Police identified the truck driver as Michael Pacholka and arrested him on felony hit-and-run charges.
Officials say the bicyclist was a 17-year-old who was undergoing surgery at University Medical Center. Pacholka hit the teenager and kept driving.
The 17-year-old is currently in serious condition.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- A person on a bicycle was hit by a truck around 5 p.m. Friday near Oakey and Valley View Boulevards.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
This crash is under investigation by Las Vegas police. More information to come.
