AROUND TOWN: Celebrating Mardi Gras Vegas style

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — It's Mardi Gras season in New Orleans, but you don't need to travel 2,000 miles to get in on the fun.

There are plenty of places around town, throwing their own parties.

13 Action News stopped by the Linq Promenade where the good times will be rolling all weekend.

The four-day celebration starts on Saturday at 6 p.m., where the king and queen of Mardi Gras will lead a New Orleans-style parade.

The parade complete with festive music will start on Las Vegas Boulevard and travel down the LINQ Promenade.

13 Action News also stopped by Lola's - a Louisiana Kitchen serving up authentic Creole cooking. Lola Pokorny, the owner of the restaurant, serves up some of the best Cajun dishes.

"We love to cook; it comes from the heart," said Lola, "We want our customers to have that experience of how I grew up."
