To help pet owners during the busy Fourth of July holiday period, The Animal Foundation is happy to announce that reclaim fees have been waived on all lost and stray animals at the shelter.

Fees have been waived due to the public health pandemic, and those fee waivers will continue during the upcoming Independence Day period, when more pets are lost than any other time of year.

From July 1-10 of 2019, The Animal Foundation took in 664 lost and frightened animals, many of whom had escaped while seeking safety from loud neighborhood fireworks displays.

Only 22% of those animals were reclaimed by their owners.

In the unfortunate event that your beloved pet becomes lost, explore your neighborhood, check with your neighbors, go on social media, and register them as lost on findingrover.com.

If they are brought to The Animal Foundation, go to their website and search their database, which is updated hourly.

If you see your pet on our site, please make an appointment by calling 702-955-5932. Phone lines are open 7 days a week from 9am to 7pm.

To claim your lost animal at the shelter, you must bring proof of ownership (e.g. a photo of your pet, veterinary records, proof of rabies vaccine, or microchip number). Proof of citizenship is not required.

Lost dogs brought to The Animal Foundation are legally required to be held for 72 hours.
