Hundreds of pets were taken in by the Animal Foundation after the Fourth of July holiday. This resulted in the shelter becoming overcrowded once again.
Unfortunately, only about 20 percent of the animals were claimed. Over the weekend, close to 125 pets were adopted but hundreds still remain at the shelter.
So, the Animal Foundation announced that many of the animals -- dogs, cats and rabbits -- can be adopted for free until Aug. 15.
