Albertsons opens new store in northwest Las Vegas

Over $75K in community grants, food to be donated

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Albertsons is opening a new location in northwest Las Vegas today.

A special ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for March 13 at 9 a.m at the new location. The public is invited to attend.

The new store is located in the Deer Springs Village Shopping Center at 6730 N. Hualapai Way.

More than $75,000 in community grants will be distributed at the event, and a protein donation of more than 40,000 pounds will be made to Three Square Food Bank.

The following schools and nonprofits are being recognized for their fantastic community contributions with grants to further their programs:

  • Centennial High School Marching Band - $1,000
  • Centennial High School ROTC - $1,00
  • Centennial High School Choir - $1,000
  • Centennial High School Cheer - $1,000
  • Centennial High School Orchestra - $1,000
  • Bozarth Elementary School - $1,000
  • Divich Elementary School - $1,000
  • Thompson Elementary School - $1,000
  • Peterson Academic Center - $1,000
  • Escobedo Middle School - $1,000
  • Opportunity Village - $25,000
  • Angels of Las Vegas - $5,000
  • Spirit Therapies - $5,000
  • Best Buddies Nevada - $10,000
  • Best Buddies Nevada - $10,000
  • Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation - $10,000
