9-year-old girl recognized as 'Kid Mayor' today

9-year-old Katie Hollingshead was named "Kid Mayor" Wednesday by the City of Las Vegas. She won a contest to be mayor sponsored by the Strong Start for Children campaign.

Hollingshead was recognized by Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman. 

In addition, Councilman Stavros S. Anthony recognized the local winners of the recent Mayor’s Cup Soccer Tournament. The tournament happens twice a year at city fields and includes teams from across the country and around the world.
 
Mayor Pro Tem Lois Tarkanian recognized Polish Heritage Month, and will welcome dancers who will perform at the meeting.
 
Councilman Steven G. Seroka welcomed the Vegas Valley Veteran Fire Crew to the meeting. This group of military veterans work as volunteers assisting in fighting wildfires.
