85-year-old man killed while crossing street east of Las Vegas Strip

An 85-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a vehicle just east of the Las Vegas Strip Tuesday night.

At 11:23 p.m. on the night of Sept. 12, a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Paradise Road, near Harmon Avenue.

Evidence at the scene indicated a pedestrian was walking east across Paradise Road when he was hit by a Ford Mustang. The pedestrian was transported to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead after arrival.

The operator of the Ford Mustang remained at the scene to report the incident to police. The pedestrian was crossing the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk when the collision happened.

This is the 89th traffic related fatality in Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for 2017.
