Henderson Police officers arrested eight drivers on DUI charges and handed out over 330 tickets to motorists during a recent enforcement effort targeting impaired drivers.
Traffic officers conducted a Joining Forces event using saturation patrols to look for impaired drivers. The combined effort took place April 25 through May 9.
Henderson Police officers made a total of 281 stops with 338 total citations written during the 15-day operation.
Officers issued 141 tickets to motorists for speeding and another 21 citations for running a red light. Officers also issued 53 tickets for drivers with no insurance, who had registration violations or were driving on a revoked, suspended or expired driver’s license.
Clark County had 39 of the 61 alcohol-related traffic crash deaths in 2015 with a total of 211 of the 326 traffic fatalities.
There were 14 traffic-related deaths in Henderson in 2015.
