74-year-old inmate Samuel Blake died at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 at the Regional Medical Facility inside the Northern Nevada Correctional Center.
Blake was committed from Clark County on August 26, 1980, and was serving a life sentence for 1st degree murder.
An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the cause of death. Next of kin have been notified.
