LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Six people and one dog are temporarily without a home after their house in northwest Las Vegas caught fire on Wednesday, firefighters say.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue responded to the fire on Taylor Creek Avenue, near Ann Road and Rainbow Boulevard, shortly before 3:30 p.m.

When crews arrived, firefighters say flames and smoke were shooting out a second floor window.

The fire started in a bedroom, which was gutted, according to authorities. The rest of the house had very light smoke damage.

There were no injuries.

Authorities estimated damage at $50,000.

Three adults, three children and one small dog are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
