UPDATE OCT. 18: Around 7 p.m. on Oct. 18, the hikers were rescued and are currently safe.

ORIGINAL STORY: Three female hikers are currently stranded in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

Las Vegas police say they received a call at 3:56 p.m. from a person who reported the 3 women were asking for help.

The women reportedly have no food, water or working cell phone.

They are not hurt but are too weak to walk to the parking lot, which is approximately 2 miles away.

The ages of the hikers are 22, 23 and 25.  

The search and rescue unit has been launched to rescue the hikers.
