Three people were displaced and four pets died in a garage fire Monday afternoon.
According to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, the fire was reported around 2:40 p.m. at 6908 Sweetwater Place, near Alta Drive and Rainbow Boulevard.
The type of pets killed in the fire was not specified.
One neighbor was also treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. Las Vegas Fire & Rescue reported a neighbor who saw the fire went to the house and used a garden hose to put water on the fire. But the fire grew larger, so he left and went into the house.
The two occupants were in a rear bedroom watching TV unaware their house was on fire. They escaped without injury.
The garage was gutted as a result of the fire with the blaze causing damage to the interior of the house.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage is estimated at $125,000.
