Two people were hurt in an incident involving an inner tube at Lake Mead National Recreation Area Sunday.
At 12:46 p.m., a National Park Service ranger was notified of the incident on Lake Mohave near Katherine Landing.
Initial reports indicate that the individuals were injured while tubing when the rope that was towing them snapped, whipping them to shore near Nevada Telephone Cove. An man and girl were transported by helicopter to University Medical Center with critical injuries.
Personnel from the National Park Service, Nevada Department of Wildlife, Bullhead City Fire Department and Tristate Careflight responded to the scene.
The National Park Service is assisting the Nevada Department of Wildlife with the investigation.
