2 dead after helicopter crash near Alamo Lake

Two people are dead after a helicopter crash on Friday.

Mohave County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Unit responded the  helicopter crash around 12:20 a.m.  

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office to report an overdue flight traveling from Prescott, Arizona to Riverside, California.  

Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office tracked the victims cell phone to an area just north of Alamo Lake, south of Wikieup.  

Mohave County Search and Rescue Units responded along with Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office and Department of Public Safety Ranger and was able to locate the crash site.  

Investigations determined the two male subjects on board were deceased.  

The victims have not yet been identified by the coroner.

The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) were notified and will continue the investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
