1 person hurt, 5 animals dead in mobile home fire

At least one person was hurt and five animals died in a large mobile home fire Monday evening.

Around 6:38 p.m., 24 firefighters with the Clark County Fire Department responded to the 3400 block of East Viking Road, just east of the Pecos-McLeod Interconnect. Shortly after arrival, a second alarm was called, bringing a total of 51 firefighters on scene.

There were multiple single-wide mobile home units involved in the fire.  Additional exposures included condo units but the fire was confined to the mobile home units and at least 1 vehicle.
 
The fire department reported that 5 animals are deceased and one person was transported with unknown injuries.  

The American Red Cross is assisting 9 adults and 3 children as a result of the fire.
 
The cause of the fire is under investigation and damage estimates are pending.
