LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — An insurance company is looking to hire more than 50 employees for its call center located in Las Vegas.
Canadian company Wawanesa General Insurance Co. said the full-time positions would be for its next class of employees due to start June 3.
The company’s support call center, located near Washington Avenue and US-95, serves existing automobile and home insurance policyholders.
Jon De La Paz, a customer service supervisor/recruiter with Wawanesa, said the company would be hiring agents through October as the call center is looking to expand its employee base after recently opening in January.

These new employees are expected to assist the company's current policyholders with answering questions, making policy changes and billing assistance with their policies, according to De La Paz.
Customer service positions start at $16.74 an hour, and the company said it will cover the cost for licensing expenses for each of the hires.
While the business doesn’t currently offer insurance in Nevada, De La Paz said it does have plans to expand offerings to the state soon.
