Boyd Gaming is getting into the holiday spirit with its 5th annual tree-decorating competition -- Trees of Hope.

David Strow, vice president of corporate communications at Boyd Gamin, appeared on Action News at Midday to talk about the competition.

30 participating charities will be competing for $45,000. The participating charities will decorate their trees at seven Boyd Gaming properties, including Aliante, Cannery, Eastside Cannery, Gold Coast, Main Street Station, Suncoast and The Orleans.

Customers can vote for their favorite trees Nov. 26 through Dec. 15.

The top-performing charities at each participating Boyd Gaming property will be awarded a grand prize, with a guaranteed minimum cash prize of $500 for all participating organizations.

The public is also invited to give their favorite tree a second chance to win additional cash prize by voting online on Boyd Gaming's social channels. Don't forget to use #TreesofHopeLV!
