Local fundraisers for Hurricane Harvey victims

PT'S BREWING CO.
From Sept. 1-10, proceeds from sales of PT's Brewing Co. craft beers will benefit victims of Hurricane Harvey. Nevada largest traditional tavern operator will donate $1 from each purchase of a 16-ounce or 25-ounce PT’s Brewing Company craft beer toward the hurricane relief efforts. In addition, Golden Entertainment, Inc. – the parent company of PT’s Entertainment Group – will donate 50 cents when anyone through social media “likes” a mention of the program through Twitter, Instragram or Facebook. Golden Entertainment and PT’s Entertainment Group hope to raise a total of $10,000 through sales and company contributions to help victims of the storm. The funds raised will go to the Greater Houston Community Foundation The PT’s Brewing Company beer selections are also available during PTEG’s award-winning happy hour, which takes place daily from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. During happy hour, all PTEG taverns offer 50 percent off drinks.

 

NEVADA DENTAL ASSOCIATION
The Nevada Dental Association is accepting donations of supplies to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. You can make a cash donation to the Nevada Dental Association Memorial Relief Fund or donate supplies. They are accepting donations of toothbrushes, toothpaste, gloves etc. Donations can be dropped off at A Childrens Dentist, 8710 W. Charleston Blvd. Click here for more information.

ZAPPOS & SALVATION ARMY DONATION DRIVE
Zappos for Good, the Salvation Army and Lyft have teamed up for a donation drive to benefit the victims of Hurricane Harvey. For each item that is donated, Zappos will make a $1 donation (up to $100k) to the Salvation Army to help those affected by this tragic event. For those unable to visit the donation headquarters, we invite them to use the code (ZAPPOSFORGOOD17) to schedule a Lyft and have their donation items picked up in the Las Vegas area and dropped off at one of the donation locations. Some of the items needed include non-perishable foods, baby supplies, hygiene products, and non-perishable p[et supplies. Donations are being accepted at the 7th Street parking lot for Zappos and The Center on Maryland Parkway. Donations are being accepted 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 5 through 8.

CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN
California Pizza Kitchen is hosting a nationwide fundraiser on Sept. 12 for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Guests can visit their local CPK and donate 20 percent of their bill to Feeding Texas, a statewide, 501(c)3 nonprofit network of food banks supporting needs across Texas in response to Hurricane Harvey. Guests must mention the fundraiser to their server. The fundraiser can be applied to dine-in, take-out, online, and catering orders. Tax, gratuity, gift card and retail sales are excluded from the donation. Not valid for third-party delivery or at airport, stadium or Mirage Hotel locations.

PINECREST ACADEMY FUNDRAISER
Love with Lemons is helping the 4th grade students at Pinecrest Academy in Henderson who want to raise money and supplies for Texas. A lemonade stand will be set up from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Pinecrest Academy campus on Boulder Highway. They are sending all the supplies to Heroes of America Foundation Inc.

THE CHURCH LV -- NOW THRU SEPT. 16
The Church LV at 3051 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson, is collecting supplies for victims of Hurricane Harvey. Supplies needed include non-perishable food, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, diapers of all sizes, baby wipes, baby formula, bug spray, backpacks, and school supplies. The drive is taking place now through Sept. 16. Supplies can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.Mondays through Thursdays, 4 to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 98 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays. A truck will leave on Sept. 17 to take the supplies to Houston.

FREEDOM BEAT AT DOWNTOWN GRAND
Proceeds from the Culinary Road Trip dinner on Sept. 27 at Freedom Beat in the Downtown Grand will be donated directly to Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. Chef Scott’s seventh dinner stop will take guests on a unique excursion Deep in the Heart of Texas with a western cuisine aimed to give event-goers a taste of the Lone Star State. The event will be expanded to allow for up to 150 people to take part in this unique dining series. Tickets to the multi-course dinner will be $50 per person/$400 per table of eight. 100% of the ticket sales will be donated.

FUNDRAISER AT CORUSCATE SALON
Coruscate Salon will be raising money for Hurricane Harvey victims from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 1. 6 to 8 stylists, 2 barbers and 1 aesthetician will be doing women's blow outs for $20 and men's haircuts for $15. There will also be a braid bar for donations and lip/eyebrow waxing for $4. The proceeds will be donated to United Way of Greater Houston.
