LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Thursday is expected to be the busiest day on the roads for the Independence Day Holiday.

AAA expects 49 million Americans will travel today. 41 million of them opt for a road trip.

Many of those road-trippers will be heading to Las Vegas. According to AAA, Sin City is the fourth most popular place in the country to celebrate Fourth of July. Orlando, Honolulu and Seattle take the top three spots.

Last year, Las Vegas didn't even make it to the top five destinations.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority estimates 330,000 people will flock to Las Vegas for Fourth of July. Tourists are expected to spend about $238 million.

AAA plans to rescue about 3,700 drivers, with the majority of those calls for flat tires and dead batteries.

"The heat does a number of those two parts of your vehicle so just get them checked out and make sure everything's okay," said Sergio Avila, AAA spokesperson.

If you're hitting the roads, it's best to start early. The worst time to be on the road is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The busiest day to fly is the Sunday following July 4.
