LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say firefighters quickly extinguished a blaze that consumed a palm tree and other landscaping in front of a hotel along the Las Vegas Strip.
Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the fire to at least one tree and nearby landscaping in front of Mandalay Bay was caused by a homeless person who was trying to hook up a light with some wires.
The fire was reported to the Clark County Fire Department on Sunday night.
