LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 61-year-old Las Vegas man has been sentenced to more than 17 years in federal prison for receiving and distributing child pornography using an internet file-sharing network.

U.S. District Judge Andrew Gordon also sentenced Bret Alan Humphries on Tuesday to lifetime supervision following prison.

Defense attorney Tom Ericsson said Wednesday that Humphries will appeal his conviction and sentence.

Humphries was indicted in 2014 and a jury found him guilty last August.

Prosecutors say Las Vegas police and the FBI seized computers at Humphries' home containing images and videos depicting sex acts and physical abuse involving toddlers and young children.

U.S. Attorney Nicholas Trutanich says that while Humphries was free pending sentencing, he violated conditions of release by possessing a gun, ammunition and a device with internet access.
