Las Vegas-Clark County Library District
Kids & Teens! Summer Challenge
May 18 – July 31, 2019

Program Description: The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District (LVCCLD) kicked off its Summer Challenge program this week, inviting local youth to beat summer boredom while having a blast and sharpening their academic skills. Kids of all ages can choose from hundreds of activities that will inspire new interests and abilities and help prevent summer “brain drain.”

Participation in Summer Challenge earns them points to win cool prizes at their local library branch, PLUS a chance to win one of several District-wide grand prizes, including Vegas Golden Knights team autographed hockey sticks, Chance the Mascot bobble heads, or tickets to the Life Is Beautiful Music & Art Festival. (And be sure to stop by and take your selfies with our Chance cut-outs!)

Children of all ages can participate in Summer Challenge, from babies and toddlers through tweens and teens. There are hundreds of activities to choose from, including puppet and magic shows, storytimes, STEAM workshops, escape rooms, theater and sewing classes, video game tournaments, a Robot Lab powered by Switch, and many more exciting things to explore.

Reading (or being read to) is another fun way to earn points! Besides books, this includes comic books, graphic novels, magazines, newspapers, whatever they like to read will earn them points for prizes. Participants receive one point for joining in any activity of their choice, or one point for every 25 minutes of reading.
