LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Widespread windy conditions are expected through southern Nevada Sunday and Monday. A Wind Advisory is in place for the Las Vegas area from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday with the advisory extended through p.m. Monday for Lake Mead, Bullhead City, Mohave Valley and Laughlin. Gusts through the Colorado River Valley may exceed 55 mph. The strong winds create dangerous boating conditions and make driving difficult for high profile vehicles. Tree limbs could be blown down with strong winds as well. The system brought a small rain chance for the valley (10%) and a 40% chance of light snow for elevations above 6000 feet. Temperatures will land in the low 70s Sunday and Monday before a warming trend kicks in mid-week.
Mid-week temperatures will climb back into the 80s with the possibility of upper 80s by next weekend, which would be more than 10° above average for this time of year and the hottest temperature we've seen so far in 2022. Right now, there's a 75% chance we break or tie the daily temperature record of 87° on Saturday.
