LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A pedestrian is in critical condition after a crash on Maryland Parkway on Saturday.

It happened around 9:46 a.m. at the intersection of Flamingo Road, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The pedestrian was running south across Flamingo outside of a marked or implied crosswalk, police said.

The pedestrian ran in front of an RTC bus that was stopped, facing west, and continued into the roadway into the path of a 2009 Hyundai Sonata, according to LVMPD.

The front of the Hyundai struck the pedestrian on her left side and projected her west onto the roadway.

Arriving emergency medical personnel responded to the collision scene and took the pedestrian to Sunrise Hospital, where she remains with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Hyundai remained at the collision scene and showed no signs of impairment.

This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
