LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A 53-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a concrete barrier on West Desert Inn Road east of South Polaris Avenue Saturday.
According to the RTC, a crash has blocked off all eastbound lanes on Desert Inn Road after Valley View Boulevard.
We reached out to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) to learn more. Metro shared that the incident was a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.
Police say that at around 6:01 p.m., a motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Desert Inn east of South Polaris when he failed to turn at a curve, struck a concrete jersey wall and fell onto northbound lanes on Interstate 15. He then slid into the concrete road east of the roadway.
Impairment is unknown at this time, LVMPD said.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
